Hmm, I bet the emitter is bigger on a p73.. Haven't seen anything written in stone about that . I wonder if anybody has been able to acquire that info yet ..

Hi Steve...I still prefer the 6X Cylindericals ( Like you have ) with the 2mmfL from Dave. It remains somewhat " Fussy " to get the position dialed in right !!! Up-Down-Left-Right.....rinse and repeat x 10 !!!....But eventually you will get there !! The trick is to get just a VERY little pressure on the four (4) set bolts on Dave's adjustable mount....and I mean VERY little. This will allow you to " scoot " the LD around. Once you find the optimal spot...Lock'er down !!

As far as Near Field / Far Field size and mRad divergence....Well.....it ALL depends what you can live with for a Near Field size !!!

If you can deal with a 4.3mm geometry for your scanner mirrors....then you will be rewarded with less than 1.0 mRad !!! IF you need less size for your scanner mirrors....you will get greater divergence. It is a trade-off determined by the distance from your AC lens and your first cylinderical optic !! Good Luck

Quick test, and ~1.5mrad with a P73 - perfect match for the Chi Greens or 445 with o-like uncorrected

    Thx Bob, Dave.
I think I've got my bearings back now and on an even keel. Appreciate it . I'll have to remember to take more notes and keep them where I can find them from now on :]

Does anyone have a picture/photo of the beam from a P73 after the 2mmFL lens and before the cylindrical lenses?

    Cheers

This is Daves 2mmfl lens mounted in an aixiz barrel so not too perfect. At the ap it's a very tiny dot. At 7 feet the stripe is 45 x 2 mm . P73 diode.

Thanks Steve-o. I'll have little play this afternoon.

What distance do you have from the 2mmFL lens to the first cylindrical and what distance from the first to the second cylindrical (approx)? Need to make sure my base is long enough.

    Cheers

The PCV is about 50mm from the coll-lens and the PCX is 100mm from the coll- lens but it's not working too well. To get a small dot farfield at 100 feet I've got a 9mm line at the aperture (not a rectangle). That's why I think I'm doing something wrong and can't figure it out yet :/
