I have an olike 100mw 532, going to get a 200 mw (12mm modules). Going to heatsink and probably TEC. They are going to be the green for a RGB projector. The 100mw is $60 and the 200mw is $115. I'm not complaining that they're not a d.i. diode. The price is certainly ok.

There was a member on LPF and even MI based who sold me a 200mw green that after my ir filter was giving out around 182mw, and i paid 75$ i bought 3. but 2 of the 3 have a slight problem.
the beam does not come out straight.
one is at a tiny angle the other very big.
So i found i have to turn it in the heatsink till the beam hits the same height as the other then measure and drill the holes. to mount.
they still work great and with my TEC setup seems to work well.
But who knows how long this green will last.

    i have 500mW give 300mW
o-like tell It can be 779mW at 1050mA

what is a safe but max power we can get out of this ?
    greets joost
i will test and test and test
the beam is a lot beter then the nomall frash light china 635nm
    the shape is I

You have the 520G71? Yes, o-like states that you can drive it at 1050ma but it is not recommended. There was a thread on this here on PL somewhere. I believe the maximum recommended over-drive current was somewhere in the 700-800mA range (at a probable reduced life-span.) What lens are you using, Verkoop? Looks nice

    yes i have that one.

    i test 550mW for 2 hour
    not get hot.

    nice beam!
only the I must be a o shape

but i know they work on it with lenses. hope they will find a good one soon!
i love this red power out of 1 small diode wow :-)

perhaps same trick as with the casio blue, use a prism pair to correct it. Perhaps merge it with another one in a pbs after rotation to get more of a square.

    prisms won't cut it...
you can try a long fl lens i.e o-like or aixiz and a pair of prisms and then you have a fat beam on the galvo mirrors and 50-55% losses with 1-1,5 mrad divergence
or a slimmer beam, lower losses and 3-4 mrad divergence with a shorter fl lens like the optima lens and prism pairs.

cylinder lenses are the way to go, i'm just waiting for 8x or 10x ratio lenses and a shorter fl lens to see what i get out of this. you can see many interesting results if you read the previous pages of this post

Have you ordered cylinderical lenses of 8X or 10X...If so....where...and how many Drachma ????? I think the best solution for the ML520G71 will also be the best solution for the ML501P73 !! And as per the Solarfire example...off-set the axis of two knife edged beams....propagated into one C-Lens set..That's the ticket !!!

hey mr beam, we are not trading in drachmas yet, trying to stay within the eurozone for the time being

on a more serious note, at the moment i'm waiting for the 3mm FL lens from dave and the adjustable mount and i also wait for a final quotation from doriclenses i posted earlier (they are a bit slow in comms but they always reply). so not much to wait for during the weekend. if i don't get an answer or if it takes too long i will try thor labs or edmund. in any case, i will try this diode with an 8x or 10x cyl pair.

i also know that other, more knowledgable, people are trying with even shorter FL lenses and stuff

    Hey Joost,

are you measuring the diode raw power there or after some lens?

Oh, and what current and voltage are you driving the diode at.
