i use a axiz glas lens.
    and flexmod driver
i did not adjust the voltage.
    only set the diode current.
i test at 535mA give 300mW and stabel.

i think with a prism pair this is a useble beam.

Mr. LaNek...My knowledge of currency is even less than my knowledge of optics !!! haha I wish the best for Greece thru her current troubles !!

I also have the LSP adjustable mount with FL3mm Colli in the post from Dave. What model # from Doriclenses do you have them quoting ???

Hey Drlava.......Time for a GB on these lenses ????????????????? Thanx all.

not sure, as i got lazy and gave them the specs of the optima lens and the dave-lens and let them figure out what cyls would be required.
waiting for the reply, hope i have something withing monday or tuesday.

i also tried to get something from thorlabs site, would these work do you think?

Yeah you might get 300mw now,but when you have the prisms as well
You will be lucky to see 180mw.
With a shorter FL lens like Dave's and the lava lens, you get more than 440mw@535ma

When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

    power an dprice still OK

just get a good low cost option for a nice round beam!

I remain convinced that Cylinderical Lenses.....such as Drlava are the only way to go with the ML520's ! Lava still sells them for 40 USD per set...same price as prisms ( close)....Yes...the C-lenses are more position demanding to align....but WHY waste PO ???? The mounting for prisms or cylinderical lenses has about the same degree of challenge. So...equal in cost...equal in mount difficulty...about 15% more power = C-Lenses... No Brainer !!

    BEAM

LANek...I am currently reading up about Cylinderical Lenses and magnification. I do NOT know the answer to your question concerning the ThorLabs lenses.
If any PL'er more versed in Optics would please offer up a good explaination...that would be great !!!

I was doing more tests today and ran a G71 to 550mW and it was a little warm but hardly noticeable.

Used a simple lens setup to just get the beam on the meter pod.

Used a die4drive for power adjust so am not sure what current it was, tomorrow, I will drive it direct with a proper power supply to take some power readings and test the running temp at 500mW

The new lenses should be in the hand tomorrow.

Yes, or at least it will identify the one I have been testing with.
