Any special cooling on these? I find that on a cold plate they hold output will sustained at 600mw, but if just on a piece of aluminum 4x6 inches, the power quickly drops in half due to heat? I also have the driver mounted on it so that is also adding heat.

These are test for my buddy's first build (should end up in the 1.2~1.5w range). He also has some opnext available, we are going drop this module once I get a care package mountinto my existing box and then compare it to (2)knife edged 660's with optima glass PBS's with one of the 150mw opnext. Trying to see if the tighter beam will give a brigher appearance and also compare the red shading (also the landing on the galvo's). I am in process of a build also so, been learning what these can do for part of it . Plan on PBS 2 of these reds and dichro mixing them in with my 8~12 red diode 660 build. Yes we must get going though. I want to see a 6w projector / beam rail by Christmas.
It is crazy how bright 400mw of 640 is compared to 1.7w of 660, check out the pic below. The tighter beam is the 8 660's. But the brightness is about equal if not leaning towards the more orange 640.
