What is the purpose of the correction optics before the cube? Could you not use a waveplate on one pre-cube then use a single correction optics post-cube? O(R is this what Andy was suggesting when he posted his parts list?
Norty...I believe purpose for C-lenses correction optics B4 the Cube is that two beams can be very slightly angled off-axis.....so that that the two ( 2 ) one mm beams can hit the C-lens....dead centre of the first optic....Solarfire did some experimenting on this and found you could do this. If you have two (2) seperate beams hit the first C=lens optic...I believe you will not get good beam geometries. SF...Will you comment on this further ???? !!!!!

See my cartoon. If you knife edge, WP and PBS combine....then hit one set of C-lenses.....you will get bad results. I have NOT experimented with this design....of one final set of C-Lenses after the PBS....so...I do NOT know for sure !!!! But...I think it will not produce good results ??? If it does....GREAT !!!
    Someone with two (2) ML520G71....please run a trial !!

Drlava is notorious for unpredictable response times. Sometimes he is intensely posting and shipping and then suddenly nothing and this can be for weeks. If an optimum lens design is clear, I think it would be worthwhile to look for another source as these new red diodes might largely replace the LOCs and the demand could be great.

While these have the purpose, i'll still take a single 660 PBS's with a opnext 642 any day for my graphics projector.

I would really like to see another supplier pop up and even some samples to test the best magnification.

Won't there be an issue with beam size at the entrance to the lens since one is technically a further distance away? I don't feel it will be a deal breaker but that was the knock on a pair just PBS'd then corrected.

    Lets ask Terrawatt!!

Well if someone has the specs of the C lenses along with the short FL lens.
I have been talking to a optic company about getting them made.
The two hurdles that i will need help on is.
1 thee MOQ for them will be around 100
2 i need to know the exact specs and coatings of the lenses.
This way you would be buying a set of lenses with the short FL lens.
I also had the idea to be able to make it slide into a 3 element aixiz lens and have a spacer made to hold it in place.
with aixiz lenses being so lose you will need Teflon tape.

Just wondering if any of you guys have actually killed one of these yet?

I pumped 1.5A into one for over 7 minutes without any active cooling just to see if it would die and it was still kicking.

Also the next day I did test the diode again and it had no noticeable degradation which I was not expecting. Hell I was not expecting it to live through the test.

I would love it to fnid that we could push these just as we do the 445nm with a bit of tec cooling . what a cheap way to get 2w of blue run 2 of those just above 1W.

Could happen .. never know ..
DTR, that's a pretty good beam in that vid. What lens are you running there, a 405G2?
1.5A for 7 minutes. wow. I wish I had an mttf equation to approximate that into minutes/hours at 0.5 to 1 Amp. Loves the puffs of smoke off ur cigy thru the vid. lol.

So with a regular lens the line is just a bit wider than the 445 blue diodes?

Was either a G-2 lens or an O-Like half threaded. I was testing with both when I did that video.
