well i got my lenses from dave and did a live stream.
    The results are good.
    Okay good is an understatement.
I get more power with dave lens vs my last lens by about 30mw.
Also here are my beam specs
    at 0ft 4.64 mm
    at 20ft 9.65mm
    0.8218502086645146
I made a crappy video of my setup.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bXCU...QjsYZjh6HKX5-m
That was made while doing the live stream testing and even of me gluing the lenses in.
now that i know the rough distances away i have to be from the first c lenses and the distance between them both i can work out the rest no problem.
On my final rig i will take measurements of the beam size with pic with my digital calipers in the shot.
I plan to have the beam be 4.5mm at 0 ft them pin hole it to 4mm taking a bit of the wings off for not much power and then i will have a decent divergence.
Dave you rock. came in fast.
Cant wait for my test samples to come it!
Oh i also got more lenses on the way i got a 2.5mmFL and one other.
So the 2.5mm FL lens has a higher NA so it might get us a bit more power and better wings but we will have to wait to find out.

Thanx Kiyoukan !!!!! .....YOU are movings things forward....We WILL tame this diode.....then....go on to the 500mW version and finally.....dual and quad models !!! a five (5) watt DIY RGB projector....for a reasonable cost....IS on the " Event Horizon " so to speak !!!!! BEAM !!!
Beam Axiom #1 ~The Quantum well is DEEP ! Photons for ALL !!
    .
Beam Axiom #2 ~Yes...As a matter of fact...I DO wear tinfoil on my head !!

This is a very good lens for these diodes, the wings are pretty low power and are reminiscent of the LENS27.

You forgot to mention the best bit though that beam is 4.64mm wide after correction, but under 2mm tall.. and that allows for vertical stacking.

Hellllooooo quad with 4.5mm and ~1mR

Using Dave's new short FL lenses I put together a vertically combined pair of diodes this afternoon, running them at 400mA and after correction with a pair of drlava's cylinder lenses it has a 4.7mm wide beam and a 22mm wide spot @ 21m, so .82mR.
Unsurprisingly, it's twice the power of a single diode

Fiddly bugger though because of the critical path through the cylinders, the smallest of offset and distortion is your prize.

The interesting news is that the pair of beams is only 3.5mm high, so with closer knifing I think it's very possible to go more than a quad and squeeze 3 beams into a 5mm high stack. Add a waveplate/PBS and it looks like 6 of these diodes will go into a 5mm beam with low divergence. Smashin'!

Yea larger c lenses will help alot but they take up more room.

lol that's probably UK for "f'in awsome Dude!" This is getting very interesting now .. looking very approachable, and the end solution in sight .. and they say that it couldn't be done .. wow .

just took alot of money time and some very smart people.
But having a 1W 635nm red setup for my projector make all of it worth it.
Now if only i could find a way to earn back all the money i spent.
