Any feedback on the higher mag correction lenses I've sent out? There are still a few left, if you're interested send me a PM!

Who got these? Any results? Does this mean a larger near-field spot size and better divergence or vice-versa ? Any info ?? Thanx !! I may order a set .. or not .. I'm so frugkin' broke 'cause of this hobby lol .. ehhh , hh ...

Yea Steve.....I would really like to know the results !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps....they could not get them to work because they did not have the benefit of my latest iteration of Laser Diode Mount design....See pic !! hahahaha...BEAM

Should have the parts for the adjustable diode housing I detailed above in a couple of weeks.

you know dave, a really nice feature of your current adjustable mount is that beam height is say 10.5mm, but if you flip it upside down beam height is 9.5mm.
so this is particularly cosy if you want to make an "under-over" knife-edge and place a heatsink on top of the mounts (i mean, this is not particularly easy if you shim some of the mounts)

i'd like to see this feature in the new mounts as well. i can't figure exactly how you'd make that, just thought i should ask

I had thought of that, and what I did with this one is make the M3 holes in the bottom quite deep. Then its just a matter of trimming a mm or 2 from the bottom of the mount

    Default Keep looking or not??

I'm wondering if I should keep searching for the grail, .. keep spending that $$ that ain't there ..or is this it .. 3 ~3.5 square at the aperture (cant really tell 'cause it's so damn bright-had to filter the hell out of it in front of the camera lens) and 1.36mRad divergence .. (not too awful) ..

..less than 5mm square at the aperture ..

Spot at 100 ft out the window.

To spend or not to spend..

    This damn money-pit hobby .. :/ lol

I may just have to settle for this methinks .

-edit- Still looking forward to getting your 2mm lens, Dave, for a little bit more experimenting

Default Brillant and witty title here

Hang on Steve...We are almost there !!! The 2mmfL will tighten the beam up....and so will switching to 6X magnification on the cylinderical lenses....I have the 2mm fL colli lenses now...and they do improve the divergence( As compared to the 2.9 fL) !!! When I finally get my hands on the 6X glass...I will say for sure...Grail or Fail...for my goal remains... Equal to the divergence of the 445 prism corrected geometry...in the farfield...AND about 4 ~ 4.5mm on the scanner mirrors...Did a little cartoon to cheer you up !!! Patience !! BEAM
