    Default LPC-836

Just curious, is anyone looking to try the new Mitsubishi LPC-836 660nm diodes?

From what I have read they do around 50-80mW more than the LPC-826.

If it tests out ok, the diode looks nice!
That said... their Mitsi part number doesn't appear to be standard; so I am keeping a sprinkle of scepticism on this for the time being.

I have emailed them for quantity + pricing. I've got some info back already on an order of 200. Just waiting to hear back on smaller quantities for testing/evaluation.

I'd be happy to run a group buy if there was sufficient demand.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Ok, I've negociated a diode price on 200, and struck it the same for a sample order of 10. (That means that there is clearly room to come down on the 200 price!)
The only kicker is postage per diode works out more, obviously; so this will bump up the price of the sample order a little.

Would people who wanted to test out the diodes want to club together on an order? More people testing these diodes gives us more data points + a better view on what these new ones could be like?
If we are to go ahead, I'd like to place the sample order within 24 hours.

At cost, including all transaction fees incurred (here, there and everywhere it seems!); each diode works out at £8.00 GBP (~$12.50 USD) give or take a couple of pence.
Additional worldwide postage costs to send the diodes out to you will be £2.60 for the whole order, irrespective of the number of diodes ordered.

    I'll take two.
    Can we fill another 8-testers?

At this early stage, I propose that all should try and test the diodes, get the data in, plot some curves for all to see... then we can decide if a bigger GB would be worth it.
Worst case... I think we're looking at slightly pricey 826's... anything else is a bonus!

<Sorry for the hijack Wayne >

    Regards,
    Dan

I'd like 4 for testing if possible shipped to Germany.
