1 Watt laser diodes are dangerous ! That is an understatement.
Mistakes are made all the time, it is what makes us human, i suppose.
This guy probably made an electrical mistake, and blew some diodes.
Too bad for him, he'll grow over it, I'm sure.
Recklessness concerning alignment, or other fuck-ups, can, and will cost you your vision.

Check every-thing over and over, and do it again.
Don't take short cuts, take your time, and work safe, or not all.
Wear your protective glasses!
