One server was broken into. Fortunately, the Linux kernel is held in a decentralized source control system that cryptographically ensures that unauthorized modifications can't be snuck in without notice.

Not sure what you mean by "end of story".

That this topic was not created for endless arguments like this but more for status updates on the website progress. (also what j4cbo above says is not completely correct but I wont go into this because we are getting off the topic and the way I wanted this topic to go towards).

If you want us to stop calling you out, then perhaps you should stop saying things that are false.

It's a forum, numbnut. We can post whatever we want to.

As for experience- I've been administering servers on Windows, MacOS and Linux since 1994. I'm also an MCSE (lapsed) as well as having written more than a little kernel code. While no OS is totally secure against misconfiguration, Linux is rather closer to the ideal than Windows, mostly because it has far more eyes on it than Windows.

Oh, and you use my servers regularly.

My system uses windows because thats what I need to use and thats that.
I'm not responding to your posts anymore because I feel like your waisting my time I can use for something more productive.
I do respond to posts that actually do contribute to the actually thing of the topic and more positive stuff instead of a constant negative and criticising stuff that always comes from a certain group.
Also I'm not a numbnut.. you can indeed post what you want but you will have to take responsibilities for what you say, I certainly see this abused by you serveral times.
I'm just saying you can at least make a first positive respond then right away bitching about my security

actually, they kind of have to if they want Beyond to open LD2k shows, since its hardware independent

I think the dialog in this thread has little to do with what is thought of PJs solution and more to do with what certain people think of PJ. Just calling it like it is.

    I certainly agree with that
And also with what DZ says.
Thats the reason why I wanted to bring argumenting to a halt and why I wanted to highlight that I wanted to make the announcement more to get some feedback (hopefully positive or curious about the way this is going)
Also more that people could follow about status updates about this website, glad I'm not one of the few ones that was thinking the way this topic was going was rather strange.
