    Hello Mike

I,m planning to use 2 traco top 60,s. Im planning to do another run of cases in april and i will use those in my projectors. they can deliver 2.7 amps max. You can tie the negative from the first with the positive fom the second and that is your common gnd.

The positive from the first is 24+ and the negative from the second traco is -24. I only use traco,s in my projectors. Xppower is also very good. There are allot more brands that have these 2" x 4" powersupplies. Personally i like traco and Xppower. The efficiency is very good from both brands Digikey, farnell and RS sell them i think.

I second this, Dave put me onto XPpower and I have used them for almost everything. They are well made and are have some very compact models too. The two 24v supplies I used for thr DT-40 pro scanners in my mini projector are half the size of the standard supply.

I also ordered a pair of these. Good price for a audio grade PSU and very compact @ 100mm x 76mm x 40mm.

And if someone posts some test results, could you please do genuine tests?
Not : I really like these, they seem 'stable', ...

    Ie. things you can measure

well, this is kind of like the "is a ferrari good for a first car?"
    the discussion will never end
i have not ever been close to the ems7000 but i think that the ems4000 is way better and all around scanner, and more bulletproof, too.
and more flexible to fit into a projector (although it requires more space)

it all boils down to money you have available. if you have around 900-1000 euros and want a top notch scanner, then the choice is a matter of specs between the 4000 and 7000. If you have less than that and closer to 400-500 euros then the DT series (or equivalent chinese camtech clones) might be better suited

I don't want to be annoying or anything. But why does everybody just assumes these scanners are 'top notch' just because the specs sheet says so? So far I've not seen anyone do any kind of serious testing.

I'm not saying these scanners aren't any good, I'm not saying they are. It just seems to me people are forming their opinion based solely on the specs stated by the manufacturer and maybe some testing needs to be done before recommending these to other people

It's looking very likely that a set of these will be in attendance at the UKLEM this weekend, if so we'll have plenty of experienced eyes on them and the opportunity to compare them with some of the many other scanning systems that will be there. I believe that will include a projector with 6215's and high speed CT amps as well, so if it all goes according to plan we should have some facts and figures quite soon.

I should add that if they work anywhere near as good as they look, they will be impressive indeed!
