Default UPDATE : Independent Orion from Extreme Lighting UK... Not what it's supposed to be.

UPDATE :- Well, I've now had a little more time and have taken it apart a bit more.

It seems it's definitely a TTL unit and I think it may even be this one :- http://www.lanlinglaser.com/sdp/5172...rer-1_8W_.html

Amusingly this company have this page which I think might cause a few comments from the forum... http://www.lanlinglaser.com/sdp/5172...tificates.html

Unsurprisingly, the specs listed by the eBay seller for the unit are even more bloated than the ones on the Chinese factory site.
Looking back at the seller's original specs, they claim it's analogue and complies with safety regs.
How this can be true is beyond me... There's no interlock of any kind and not even the keyswitch to lock it off while unattended!

Oddly, since joining this forum, the seller, Extreme Lighting UK, has got in contact suddenly to try to organise a re-fund for return of the unit. He's not been particularly apologetic about the state of the laser and blames everything on DHL, but I think, having now lernt a thing or three from you guys, him and me are going to have a 'Conversation'...
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

    Don't rock the boat.

Get your money back then consider your position. Not much point taking a stand if it costs you your refund.

Once you have your money back you can re-invest in a quality laser or stick to filament lighting.

    Thanks WL.

Don't worry, I won't rock the boat just yet )

But I think I might have caught the 'laser bug' now.

I'm kind of liking the idea of building a little projector of my own, but think I might do a little more reading first and see about getting my hands on some better, more adjustable optics than the stuff in this... thing

I think once I've got some money back into the *fun pot*, Rob and some others may be getting some calls...
If in doubt... Give it a clout?
