Do you have a closeup of the galvo block?
Maybe the design got updated but it looks like a normal DT40 pro, not the wide's: http://www.dtelectronic.cn/production.asp?ArticleID=54

Hi Srs, take a look at this picture : http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...5&d=1341750505

    They look like DT40-WIDE

    No they do not
Yes it has a large mirror but the Y galvo & mount don't seem to have the usual cutout.

And the wide moves normaly do far more than 56 degrees

I had a discussion with Winni when I got the build pictures from her before they shipped the projector.
I too thought it looked like the standard DT40 because of the mount.
But indeed it is the DT40W scanners and drivers in my projector but the mount looks different.
The beam is really close to the mount right now so maybe it's the wrong mount.
Here are some closeups of it.

So after further speculation, it seems like I got the DT40 Wides but in a different mount and tuned to 40k @ 56 degrees and I will not be able to make them go wider without changing the mount and moving the scanners closer to the case aperture.
What do you guys think of that?
Maybe someone else with DT40 Wides can tell how theirs came tuned from the factory?

The ones I've got from Rob Stanwax do far more than 56 degrees, never really measured it but its around 90 degrees.
Also the heigth of the Y galvo is closer to the X galvo to limit the distance the beam needs to travel.

I'm sorry to bring bad news but it looks like a worker used the wrong mount resulting in losing the whole point of the wide moves

Yeah I figured that. But even if they should send me the right mount I still need to make a new baseplate or a more simple solution, drill new holes in the baseplate to the case mounts to move it closer to the aperture.
Will talk to Winni about how to fix this.

You would likely also need to move the 3D mirror and dichro mounts to line up. This can be tricky when getting close to the front panel as you need to have some room for the mount. It might just be that the projector design doesn't suit wide moves and that you'd need to engineer a new layout around the wide moves.

I tested mine when I first got them and they are WAY more than 56°! They came with the proper mounting block (the one with the chamfer milled out of one side), and easily scan 80° beams (and I was not trying). This is from my workbench all the way around to the furthers edge of the 55" lcd. Thats with a basic test pattern generated in laser controller (dont worry folks, I deleted it once I found out it was A) carrying a virus and B) cracked copy of mamba).

Your 40 wides *sound* like their tuned down.

They will DEFINATLY need to be mounted closer to the aperture window. To get close to 90° scan angle, you'll need to be really close (i.e. 10mm back from the front panel), or have a really big aperture.

I've designed mine to allow the base plate to sit as far as practically possible putting the wides at 14-15mm from the window. I'll take a tiny hit in scan angle, but that wont worry me. Yours look quite a way back into the case (at least 40mm), which when adjusted to do beams at full throw, your going to loose a lot of the show inside the projector. Yours are also (like others have said) in the wrong mount. Not sure why this kind of mistake occurs - arent they supplied as a set? (Galvos, PS, Drivers, Block, and harness?) BTW its beams only at 90°. Graphics at that angle will ruin the scanset.

@ Jenus.. awesome report on the projector.. colours look pretty nice ..P.S Apologies for ignorance but couldn't you cut the aperture window bigger ?
