suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
RIYA, since you are here, can you tell us where to find the specs on your DAC's and what the differences are between the different models?
Thanks!
Tom

So it's been a while since I posted my review and told you guys about the problem I had with my goldenstar projector.
Here's a quick recap. I ordered a RGB projector from goldenstarlaser with DT40W scanners. For some reason goldenstar changed the scanner mount to one of their own and had a way to small aperture in the front panel to be able to scan as wide as the DT40W can. I contacted Winni about my problem and they sent me a new front panel and the real DT40W mount. (End recap)
Just as when they sent the projector, the shipment was really fast! I got the new parts just days before my summer vacation, and after that I had a business trip to LA, so I didn't had time to change the parts until a few weeks ago.
Here's a (bad) pic of the new vs the old front plate. Quite the differenceThe rightmost hole in the new frontpanel looks smaller because I already put the rubber mic-holder from the old plate in there.
The real DT40W mount is not so tall and in most builds it needs a raiser to get up to the beam. I think that's the reason goldenstar changed the mount in the first place.
But goldenstar is very nice and supportive so they supplied a alu raiser and they had drilled new holes in the DT40W mount to fit in the existing holes in the baseplate.
Everything fitted perfectly and it was very easy to change the mount.
So I just hope that goldenstar doesn't make this mistake again. If a customer orders a DT40W, they should get a DT40W and not half of it.
Here's a really bad pic with the max scan angle I have tuned right now. I cant really recall how much it is but around 85 degrees I think.
I will probably need to make the scan angle a little bit smaller later when I attach the glass frame after I got my Edmund CDAR glass, but that doesn't bother me. IMO the scan angle is way too big right now and it's just crazy how wide these scanners can go
So with that problem out of the way, I only have one more thing to "fix".
There's a quite a bit of noise in the scanner signal as you can see from the ILDA pattern:
I have spent the day trying to figure out what it can be.
The scanners start wobbling slowly as I touch the signal cable. When I disconnected the - signal completely, it stopped reacting to my hand, but the noise is still there, which could come from the fact that the signal ground has some sort of connection to the main power ground. I don't know if the signal is differential or not when it comes out from the breakout board, since all 3 cables are connected and the scanner reacts differenly when disconnecting ground or -.
I have emailed Winni to try to get the manual / schematics of this board so I can see what's really going on, as I don't really know how to measure when there's a CPU involved (it's a ARM cpu and a lot of that stuff).
The labeling on the board is PES-CONTROL-SD-V1.1 PCB from PES SYSTEMS. I have tried to search info about this board but found nothing, so if anyone have any information about this board, please let me know.
I don't want to lose the DMX and Auto Music stuff, but if I can't fix this I think I will just throw the board out and put in the Stanwax board with color correction. I only run ILDA anyway, so for me quality is more important than features.
Edit/Update: I have talked to Winni and got the wiring diagram for the board and the wiring looks ok. I will continue to investigate this in late october/november when I get my hands on a Stanwax ILDA 2.0 board that I know how it works.

just wanted to add that i recently dealt with another employee at goldenstar, Amy. I also had a very good experience. i got quick replies and the items were shipped in less than 2 days after payment. i ordered 3 mirror mounts, what they call "3D holder" and a few mirrors all came in good condition and were well packed.
I just received 2x 1W 532nm promotion series and am having inteference/noise issues with both units, the image is pulsating and flickering slightly.
I know my external cabling is good, and I have used these exact AL-25k scanners from goldenstar with no problems, and pin 25 is connected to the case as in my other scanners which do not exhibit this issue. I can see an occasional flicker of no colour when displaying a static circle with my FB3.
Any ideas?
Maybe try removing pin25 from ground.... or try another scanner power supply if you have one.....
