Well 2 more months, and we may have DI greens! Still low power though.. Would take quite a few to make a Watt. And still expen$ive cost per milliwatt compared to DPSS.. they need to ramp up R&D>production

    Hey,
I really did try to organize that GB, sadly I got that email as quoted above from the other place, I will try again in 2 months though I promise

    Thanks for all your patience

I also asked the supplier if they have any left over to give them to us hopefully they have a few

I do for sure owe you an apology, as I can see now how my previous post could be interpreted the wrong way, as I was referencing the word "Apparently" as your supplier had used it in his response to you in that "Apparently delivery is going to be an issue".

Please keep up the good work and hopefully your efforts will pay off soon as these direct greens can't remain so elusive indefinitely.

    No need to apologize

I just thought "apparently" was meaning I was lying or something but it's fine I understand & I'm not upset so it's all good

Also I'm hoping these will become available easier & hopefully in August the price will be much lower, how awesome would it be to have one for <200$

Hey, looks like we may be one step closer to the Holy Grail of Direct Green Laser Diodes!

So, Sony and Sumitomo Electric have brought the world’s first green laser diode that has an optical output power of over 100 mW in the true green region at a wavelength of 530 nm.
This precious green laser diode will deliver twice the luminosity as compared to the GaN green laser diodes, and a color gamut broadened by 182% based on the NTSC standard. Sumitomo Electric and Sony have worked together to bring this laser out in the market by using semi-polar GaN substrate, crystal growth, wafer processing technologies and Sony’s Blu-ray development technology. This just means that the videos and images on laser displays will become more vibrant in days to follow.

World`s first 520nm green semiconductor LD over 100mW

The device was grown using a semi-polar (20-21} GaN substrate. In this instance, the plane is tilted 75 degrees compared to the conventional GaN crystal c-plane. The semi-polar GaN substrate enables the sustainable production of homogenous indium-based active layers, leading to the successful growth of a high quality light-emitting layer

Sumitomo Electric and Sony managed to reduce the operating current and voltage in the laser through the optimisation of the laser structure, impurity control in crystal, and minimisation of electrode resistance.

Yea but look at the divergence on that thing!
