    LOL!

I'd like to see the total power achievable with these things! I also want to see how difficult it is to manage all the beams and the fine details, let alone the final beam profile...

Actually, can... we beta test these?

profile is dependent on user taste and diode chip orientation. There might be some lens tricks in the future, ie focus the diode beams down so you can get them higher up the axicon tip and thus closer together, and collimate them on the way out.

The Dr's Sketchup model says 7 beams, but I have no idea WTF lenses he was using in his model, or if he input the chip width, or just circularized the beams.

    So I'm starting with 4. So if you have overcoated AL on the faces, you'd get 225 X 4 X .80 =
720 mW, minimum, as the reflection will be better then .80, but .80 is plain old silver, without the overcoat, so I'm starting there.

Now here is where it gets touchy, if depends how you overlap and aim the beams in the far field.

So you could have quite a variety of patterns.

If we used 4 identical henes with TEm00 beams, you have any of these for example and a whole lot more. As long as it has some 4 fold symmetry, you could generate it,

Your video interview on youtube for your chance to be a beta tester should include your qualifications to do so and yourself responding to the following:

Good boy, Sit, Stay, roll Over, roll over, lay down, play dead, chase the cat, Speak! Get the slippers!

    JUST KIDDING>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hopefully we can skip beta and go right to production, but if I get a few of them, I will keep you in mind for #1. I think Chad gets one of the below zero serial numbers.

    Lightbulb

I noticed on my dual red the beams are slightly eliptical, but combined they make a nice dot...

Good deal Mixedgas...I will get right on it as soon as the material is here. I have been working a lot lately to help solve a few structural deficiencies for a local project. I will not need to stress relive unless you specify. My oven should be able to perform that with a new thermocouple...some things have been borrowed and abused a bit. You need any other angles let me know. I can do as many facets as you like. Cant wait to see them in action.

limiting factor on # of sides, is how close you can get to the tip and keep all the beam on the mirror.

    Mirror or facet?
