It is all done in solidworks so there are real numbers behind the drawings. The 'puck' is 1" x 2". I have a cnc machine shop so I can go down and mill it out.
The big hold up is the axicon and the fact that I have managed to bake all of my high power diodes.
I know this is going to need some sort of adjustment but i really want to try it without it. The only other design caution i can see is if you removed the axicon with the diodes on you would instantaneously have 4 dead diodes.
4 diodes facing each other = bad

My idea is just to make the axicon shorter so it sits in a pocket in the puck. That should't be a big deal. I am not really taking this too seriously. It is just fun to think about. I have spent so much time in front of this computer doing design work that a distraction such as this is nice. I am not trying to compete with anyone I just am having fun.
Anyway here is a little thinking out of the box.
