    Question

Steve, where we getting the .65mm beams? My red modules are quoted at "4mm at the aperture".

They come out as 4 dots close together, nearly overlapping.

So 4 .65 mm diameter beams at 250 mW each from red diodes become a 1.2 mm, roughly square beam at around 800 mW.

and why not run those into a fiber to scramble beams then re collimate?

maybe, waiting on the prototypes to get here.

could also just line up 4 fiber launches at that point.

yeah, the only thing i was skeptical about is there (appears to be) is no adjustment on each diode head and yes they (the diodes) are manufactured to exacting standards but there is tolerance (as far as axis to can). And yes your cube thing is manufactured to exacting standards but there is tolerance (in the thing that holds the cube as well). Tolerance is good if they go in the same direction, however, tolerance is bad if they dont. Would there be a lab jig that would align the diodes then set them with epoxy like they do the sleds? Building it will be light years easier...than aligning it....

What's the divergence like with that initial diameter?

Due to the fact that I need to have a spinning platen made for the coating chamber, which is only a few inches across, I regret that I can only get the 5 .375" axicon prototypes coated.

    These...

    From our illustrious "jeweler" above.

The wall I am projecting on is 10 feet from the projector and all four of my colors are about the same size, 6 to 8mm I would guess. The green might be abit bigger than the rest. I thought a 4mm circle from a red was good...
