Default GT TECH HQ700-A30 0.7 W white light RGB

Is there a USA certified version of this projector from Germany? USA Cost is U.S. $ 1,423.31

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/GT-TECH-HQ70...#ht_5537wt_962

If it is the same thing..What would justify the USA Price?

It looks just like X-Laser SKYWRITER RGB - 750mW RGB, 30K PPS w/SD Card. USA Cost is $3,299.00

Sorry I am new to laser projectors I had no idea it would cost $1.876.00 extra to get a variance. I guess I need to be doing more research.

    Thanks

There's a lot of work involved in getting a variance including months of paperwork.

I'm going to hazard a guess it's that you're paying for. If you're prepared to import it (with the risk of losing it at customs - a projector belonging to a member on here was recently seized by US customs as non compliant and earmarked for destruction) and then make it compliant and then you have the knowledge to file the paperwork and wait months for it to approved, then there are savings to be made.

    Hello onsatmex5,

    I'm a GT-Tech dealer.
GT-tech is not USA certified, it's just way too hard to get one and as of now the european and asian market is more then enough .
Getting a variance is really a lot of paperwork, expensive and unflexible if you want to bring improvements to the projectors.
GT-Tech optics do need realignment when shipped over a great distance.. and thats where the problem came in with variance: A client is not allowed to open up a projector.
We can assist you with easly with realigning the projector though everything gets tested before they live my workspace, including a power meter checkup to see that ur getting what u paid for.
(Mostly we want the powers to be higher then we specified, if too low (which i haven't seen yet) I shall send the projector back to the factory or replace the modules that are just too low).
We include a balanced color pallete included on the 2GB SD card for each gt-tech system.

If we say would get a variance it would be cheaper yes, but there's just so much to it we aren't going to do it yet (especially not in the near future).

If you want a GT-TECH, sure thats possible. But we will suggest you take the emergency stop accesory with it.
Do please reconsider, as i indeed hear about non yet varianced projectors being seized, a happy customer is a higher priority for me then the money, and if your not getting the projector thats not good.
If you want proper support I suggest you consider not buying from ebay but from a dealer, but again to avoid the projector being seized (in the US) I do highly recommend you to reconsider.

    Best regards,

    Pieter

    @onsatmex5 -

Looks can be decieving - loads of projectors are housed similarly. There really aren't that many housings in the world. While it does cost more to have a projector FDA certified (Usually around $30-50K per model when it is all said and done), there are deeper issues that go all the way down to how the parts are specified. How many moving heads have you seen with the same housing? We stand behind the things we make and they are guaranteed US legal which is of course essential to get a variance.

You really should give the folks at X-laser a call. They'll be happy to talk you through what your needs are and will help you pick the perfect projector. No risk of custom siezure, well built, and fantastic support. And legal.

    KEEP it COHERENT!
    Peace.

Absolutely, I also think we should offer some kudos to Pieter for putting honesty before a sale
