    What is interesting is that if you mix that green with the blue and use it as a module you can "dial a blue" One of the things I dislike about 445 is it is sooo deep. Mixing in a little green helps visibility and lets you get back to a 457 like color. Linearity between the lasers and matching divergence and size would be the hard part. I tried it with my green and it is hard to control. You only need like 20mw of green for a 1W of blue.

    Yeah the 445 looks almost violet to me. Adding just that pinch of green seems to spark up the visibility making the beam look almost like a 457 or even a 488. I can see your point about the lineararity. I haven't tried to modulate them both together yet.

    the direct injection green diodes look very suitable for this task
    just a bit more patience for the price to come down

    Yeah, that's definitely something to look forward to! They need to hurry up and put them on the market for us hobbiests, and for a reasonable price under $100
