Need DPSS expert, my analog 532nm DPSS laser power is down and running @ TEM01

Hi all,

I got a little problem with my reserve analog 532nm DHOM 500mW OEM Laser and since I’m no DPSS expert, I’ll try my luck here. This laser is a little over a year old, has never been used and was stored in the original box at room temperature. I was going to drop it into a projector I’m working on and I measured the output and it’s down to about 320mW and running in TEM01 even after sufficient warm up time and yes the modulation voltage is @ 5V. I’ve already gotten in touch with Shawn, who I originally bought the laser from and he says, to send it to him, it needs to be repaired. Due to the fact that the warranty has just expired and sending the laser to Canada and back could get a little pricey, not to mention repair costs, I decided to ask here first to see if any one has any idea what the problem could be and if possible I could solve this myself or send it to someone here in the EU/UK who could fix it. Aside the fact that power is down and operating in TEM01 everything else appears to be functioning normal. Any ideas?

Try warming the head with a hair dryer whilst it is lasing, if it makes it drastically worse or better then it probably just needs the TECs tuning, if not it is probably something more sinister like alignment (or worse).
