I have never used a spiral flute tap but swear by spiral point taps. We call them "gun taps" here in the US. They push the chips ahead of the tap.

BTW have you received to optimas yet?

I don't know if that would help due to the critical holes not being thru holes. At the moment I have to back out twice and clean the chips out before proceeding.

International mail is a pain these days

Maybe drill the holes much deeper than needed to allow for chips and the tapper of the tap?

the nice feature of spiral flute taps, is that they push the chips out of the hole, like a normal drill bit
and there is no back and forth movement needed

i admit i have snapped a couple of m2 ones, but it was my fault, both times. no problem with m3 taps at all
maybe m2.5 is the best compromise?

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

I love the integrated cooling. Can't wait to see its first light!

Nice lay out procedure. And I always like your tight wiring arrangement.

    Good job.

Hi Frank. Great work!! I really like the mounts you made with the integral pcbs

+1 on the neat wiring. I'm a sucker for neat wiring.

Looking forward to seeing the complete assembly!

    Thanks for the pics.
