I did not like that BIG DIY project..
To big, to much noise and the flow of mist was not so focused !

To make the perfect mist-wall, you need to make a laminar flow of mist.

    I did a small test here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-Tgh_33Skg

But it was a test done in 10 minutes :P

I soon receive my 9 head mist-maker.. then I will try to make a bigger one

But if you have allot of mist-makers, and you make a laminar flow with some fans, you can make a decent fog-wall screen i think..

(btw, it have been discussed before at PL )

    Thumbs up

Nice one liteglow, but I am not allowed to have the lasers in the livingroom; I am willing to bet the kitchen is way off limits.

I also want water, not fog, or steam... a nice sheet of water.

    Lightbulb

In my back yard, right out side the window I point my projecotr out of when it is foggy. It terminates on a privacy fence about 50 feet out the window. There is a water faucet right there. I guess the most complicated part is the nozzle system.

    Question ?

the last water screen that i saw was based in a pond. and they had a centrifugal fan with a fish tail nozzle bolted to the end . and ran a 60/40 water/air mix through the fan.. obv the fan was ip60 + rated.. but it might help

That material is a really good medium for this... I assume it would need a very large hose to move the water, or a very powerful pump, enough to fill all the holes with enough pressure simultaneously.

IMO: the best 'pressure' system is gravity, by using a 6" deep container up top with the water pressure generated naturally across the board. When trying to 'push' water out, not only will it use too much water, but the result is a very unstable stream.

Another thing to consider is perhaps adding a little bit of gelatin to make it tiny bit more viscous. This way it wont splatter all over the place as it's falling down...
