Default HandHeld LED Lights with RC

Was flipping through the Tele while waiting for a download. Who made the remote controlled hand out RGB LED lights given to the audience at the Country Music Awards? Looks like say 6 x 12 section of seats got a given address. The balcony section behind the stage had them. Made for a nice effect.

Seems a bit pricy prop with 6 or 8 RGB leds in each one.

    Wasn't these was it http://www.xylobands.com/

Used at the Coldplay performance some while back

I also worked with some lighting guys that developed a smartphone app that could do a similar thing (however only developed it for iDevices so only 50% of the audience had one so wasn't as effective as it could have been, they also had wireless problems due to poor design/deployment (that's where I came in) but unfortunately they just canned using it)

I am not aware of what mixedgas saw, but I was at one of Coldplay's concert and have watched the documentary. The Xylobands are controlled by radio, fairly laggy and unreliable as far as I know. So I'm not sure how far and cheap the technology has com in the past few years, but It definitely wouldn't have been possible with the 2011 Xylo bands

This was synced to a frame or less of video, no lights ever got out of sync and was a wand like device. Leds were all around the periphery.

One piece of stupidity included RF controlled high intensity led trim on a lot of the ladies dresses. When the trim on the dress glows far brighter then her face, it is, well unflattering to me. Looks good in Sci-Fi like Starlight Express... Looks garish on a country performance with short skirts.

    This was not a Xyloband.

We successfully integrated a voting system (that are used for large conferences) into Chamsys for basic colours on the set design whether a motion was carried, the colour would change. Lag was minimal maybe 200/ms but that was put down to rf from the voting system. I'll look for a video later

The PDF indicates the Barco solution was hard-wired. Was the CMA wireless?

CMA in the theatre for the Jimmy fake hologram show was the wristbands on non-talent. CMA Awards in the main auditorium looked like paddles but due to clever video editing for commercials, I could not tell. After all, no audience member was ever illuminated or really filmed in the upper deck. Close up was limited to the "talent" down in the orchestra seats. The "talent" had no leds. but did have some really good looking trophy wives, in abundance.
