    I thought this article was interesting.

    Check out the usernames in the "smuggler conversation" picture. They should probably blur those names out. Someone is watching

    The author stated that 1% of the incidents in the US result in serious injury. That would be 35 serious injuries in 2011 and 34 in 2012. I find that hard to believe considering I have not seen any news reports of this. Where did "Massimo Annati" get his stats from?

    There is no formal mechanism for reporting laser injuries in the US medical system. They don't show up in national weekly/monthly Mortality and Morbidity (MMWR) reports. It gets reported as "unspecified optical neuropathy" at best. I long ago asked a Eye Doctor about that... Got told they are not counted. Not significant to the medical monitoring system, whereas cases of things like TB and AIDS are...

    Don't you think if a pilot or police officer got his eye poked out by a laser pointer it would be all over the news?
