Appreciate the frequent updates, K. Now we'll know when to start getting geared-up for the big red builds. I may get a couple of those P73s now. I hope they work with these optics. If not, the old reliable G71s are still here waiting to be put in something :]

Lenses are being tested so far so good.
Rough data is going to be posted as i work, and will be put into the OP.
So far working distance is 45-48mm apart these are also needing to be placed alot closer to the diode than before to get a 4mm beam
So shipping of optics is to begin Thursday.
Doing more tests as far as beam pattern and profile along with knife edging, power loss and the beam spot size has alot to do with how you focus the 2mm lens it can make a good difference by about a .2mrad if its not done perfectly.
More pics and beer to come

Default A little drawing from " Count Mount " at Terrawatt Labs

First, Thanx K for organizing this GB. While I am waiting to pick up my sets, thought I'd post a drawing of how I will mount my set.....machined from acrylic...which as far as I am concerned, the best choice for mount material, as the beam propagation/alignment can clearly be seen and verified optimal. More fun with optics !!! BEAM

    Beam,
You might think about slotting or over-sizing your hold down holes to allow fine tuning of the assembly. Even if you can adjust the relative position of the lenses in the mount, the ability to also tweak the position of the assembly will probably allow finer adjustments.

Yes...I generally oversize. The four thru holes for mounting are 5mm dia and I typically use is a 6-32 with a nominal dia of 3.5mm for an Allen Head bolt. While machining acrylic is a breeze....if you try to hog thru too quick...it will chip at the edge ! And if you try to drill thru too quick...your bit will overheat==> expand==> causing your work piece to " crack like an egg "...very annoying !!!Thanx BEAM
