635nm correction optics GB

Mine have arrived today in the UK, thanks kiyoukan, I have PMed you as I did ask and pay for an additional set of corrective lenses but I guess they can be sent when the mounts are sorted.

Does anyone know the current position on the mount situation.

Spent some hours working out how to clean up the result from a 5 lens corrected blue module ( for X,Y beam shaping ). There were significant wings that persisted despite super clean optics, blackened mirror backs, etc. I am very impressed with a simple 1 power (non-magnifying ) telescope with a midpoint pinhole (a classic spatial filter). Was afraid of these before because of horror stories about finicky alignment. Not so, just set up the lenses before the correction optics so that the far field is unmoved and unchanged, measure the waist, drill a little bigger hole in a sheet of something that wont melt (ha) and slide it a little forward or backward just before it cuts the beam and SUPER CLEAN far field.

PL...YES...I have my G71 masked. VERY little mW loss!!!.... like about 12~14mW....removes about 90% of the vertical wings. Almost no wings outa the ..." Glory Hole " ( Term from Glass makers art )!!!... See...Mr.Beam knows how to mask too !!! BEAM

Well, I'd like to say hats off to 2 geniuses, Dave, for the 2mm micro-lens (where did you find this lil monster?? it's awesome.. do you have a optics group of engineers at your disposal??) and the founder or finder of the 6X lens.. Kiyoukan- that was you, right? .. Oh and 3.. excuse me Dr.Lava.. You 1st introduced the PCX PCV combo for the 'new reds' ... 3 cheers for 3 awesome guys. I know I've left a lot of people out of this equation, but just had to say ...

Solarfire first mentions going to a 1:4 or 1:5 magnification in post #38 of the epic " Grail" thread...and Andyf97 first noted great results by going with a very short length fL for the collimation lenses. They are guilty of leading us down the rabbit hole !!! THANX to them also !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEAM

well, to be honest, i think the first one to get any usable results out of this one was logsquared

of course this was not a race, it was just a collective effort to get PHOTONS FOR ALL!!!

and it is clear that we have all suceeded!!!
