You can't just call the police. There hasn't necessarily been a crime. Slow even very slow delivery and poor customer relations is not criminal, just shitty. Think it out. The police do not have a role if he is in the hospital and no jurisdiction if he is on Tuvalu. Seriously, if he has a physical address then contact him and document it. Bug him and get him to respond. Ask for an explanation or a return of your money. If Dave sent the components somewhere ask him where that was and follow up.

You really can make his life unpleasant if he is cheating, but you need to make a reasonable attempt to reach him and on line forums or Facebook is pretty lame.

At least here the police also investigates suspicious stuff...not just for criminal action. they could find out by his adress if he's alright?
Best idea imo now is that someone with his adress pays a visit if its not too far, and if he's not there leave a note or ask neighbours if they know anything about his leave.
I called him on skype, on his mobile, emailed him, pmmed him on 2 different places.
Il ask dave for his adress to send him a letter as well....although i do not have high hopes anymore.

I would, however refrain from visiting him as there is the potential for confrontation or it might be seen unfavorably as harassment.

Despite all of this I agree you might be out your payment. Although, despite the annoyance these amounts are relatively small compared to the money spent on many of the components for even simple laser systems. Think of it as overhead. Similarly, I think it is unlikely he "skipped town" just to shelter the equivalent of 1-2 months of rent.

Yes pm me his adress i will send a signed letter to him, and make a picture of the letter and post it here.

Also, his real name is not kiyoukan zhichao or whatever. Im not going to post his real name. Call him on his mobile will let you know his (probaly) real name. I will just send it to "the owner of the adress" or something like that.

Planters: thats relative. For me 330 dollar is alot and right now he stole it as far as i know.
I also wouldnt be a single bit afraid of being a "harassment" to him, and confrontations neither.

I understand your anger. My advise about the harassment it to prevent you or anyone else from squandering the upper hand legally. Not because I think you should be soft on him. Hear me. You can "hurt" him worse than if you simply hit him, if you persist through legal channels. You can make him want to return the money. To do this will take a lot of effort on your part and that is where the calculation comes in. Is it worth it? It might be, if only for the satisfaction.

im pretty angry yes, but i can always "contain it" unless you cross borders but that border is really wide with me ^^

No i have send it. I thought about asking for advice but it can always be better and everyone here has its opinion. This is a not that long easy letter wich makes our point clear. Will keep you guys uptodate.
