Default Is a 655nm beam supposed to be wide and flat?

I am new to lasers and just bought a RGB laser from China.
When it just arrived it seemed the dicros needed to be adjusted and thats how i came to find that the Red 655nm beam is really wide and flat?
It seems that quite a bit a power is lost because the top scanner are simply not wide enough to redirect the whole beam.
As a result it overshoots and makes a wide line on the inside the enclosure. (or on top of the ceiling if the lid is removed.)

Is it normal that the beam is this wide?
The seller tells me it is...

Yes, that's pretty typical for cheap red diode lasers.
