    Default QuickShow workspace size

Having now created a ton of new frames and added several pages of captured multi-projector frames, I have a bunch of pre-programmed shows saved as single cues, my workspace has ballooned to 189MB. It takes a long time load and save.

    Is this typical?

How big is yours? (that's not a loaded question!!!)

Is there anyway to clean/optimize the workspace?

Perhaps I should start by moving the per-programmed shows to another workspace?

    Cheers.

    EDIT:

I moved all the pre-timed shows to another workspace, as with also the graphics. My Beam Show workspace is now just 17MB and QS loads in a flash!

Heres a little tip, I moved my "Test Frames" tab to the first tab of the first page, it loads automatically when I launch QS.

Its probably the WAV files in the shows.

WAV's are huge files typically 50-100mb per song.

BTW why do you need a test frames tab? There's a full set of ILDA test frames in Settings > Projector Settings. Unerneatht eh show it now button is the 1st frame. Each click of the slider below that to the right brings up a different test frame.

WAV? I use MP3. Much smaller.

I know about the inbuilt test frames, but I have a tab full also of specific frames that goes above the inbuilt provide ones.

I try to keep a "Base" page with core cues as a template to keep file size down and quick if you keep adding adding adding to one workspace it gits quite large and slow to load and save.

Rob (Stanwax) pointed out to me some time ago that you get synchronization issues with Mp3's in shows. To put it simply, they slip between each authoring / opening of the show. Bets to use WAV's therefore.

Mine was well over 300MB until I created seperated workspaces for shows and cues.

Ok, good to know. Gary I and had this issue with Spaghetti also. We did all sorts of diagnostics only to realise Winblows was to blame...

I have a timed show to do in April, I'll use WAV for that! It will sound better also.
