    Default Beginning the Build (Finally!)

So, I am finally starting to build my first projector. I have spent the past year collecting the components necessary to build a decent projector... but still missing a few.

    Whats going into it:
445 driven by Dr. Lava's Flexmod (if I didn't already fry it) and corrected with anamorphic prisms (power will be dialed down to get a good white with other lasers)
660 quad using Edison's kit and Badpip's driver
300 mW 532 CNI module (at least until I can afford more)
    EMS-7000 Scanners
    j4cobo's Ether-Dream
    Shutter (from Picasso)
    Fans from DMR

    Still need to pick up:
    MM1 Mounts (4x)
    Dichros
    FS Mirrors (2x)
    Power Supply for Diodes

All this will be put on an aluminum plate (Supplied by Picasso, THANKS!)

So, almost everything fits... The cellphone is the place holder for the 532 module. I have to do something about the psu's and drivers.

First on the list of things to do is build the 445 module. I am so glad there are so many good examples on this forum to learn from. I am using an old 473 module housing to keep the diode and driver in.

I attempted to get this bad boy lasing at BayLEM, but might have cooked it... lol. Learning the hard way on this one. Still gotta test it to make sure. I got the anamorphic prisms and lens from Stanwax Laser.

Anyway, I will be posting my progress as it happens... and questions that arise (there will probably be many). I want to say thanks to all the members on PL that have already helped me and those that will help in the future... this Forum is a great resource.

    Hi Sal,

Great stuff mate! You've assembled a great combination of parts there. That's going to be a mint graphics projector!

    Keep those pics coming.

    Have fun

Grats on starting your build. I should have given you the Red/Green dichro as well, I guess next time I see you remind me.

Nice. You have done the same as me, fitted your 445 build in an old B&K 473 module!

Keen to know how the scanners pan out, thinking of replacing my DT30's with a set.

    Keep the photo coming.

So, I got the 445 firing (wouldn't have been able to do it without Heroic, j4cobo, and Platinum... in fact they kept me from blowing another diode). Here are some pics:

Too light out for beam pics... but here is the spot (uncorrected... I didn't even attempt to adjust the lens)

I progress, slowly but surely. Next, I will correct the beam and get it all fitting in the housing.

Thanks again to those that helped me out on chat.

Keep up the good work. You've definitely picked some good components to start with compared to most DIY first-offs.

    Kudos!

Hmmm... a doorknob in the background? That didn't take long

I too have contemplated the 473 enclosure. Looking good Sal.
