For indoors, I like to rent these:

Very carefully controlled particle size, below the 1u to 1.5u range where your lungs trap particles excessively. Since its Co2 driven, its not a thermal "cracker" with all the nasty health issues.\

World class machine. The designer had good taste in beer, used to come to laser show conferences.

I just need a small one for home use and maybe a really small gig or two once a semester.

So, does anyone have experience with the QTX FX900 Hazer? Or any other similarly priced one? A dmx option should be a cool thing to have, too

does anyone know if it will have problems running water-based fluids or other brand oil-based fuilds?

    thanks a lot!

That's the QTX FX1000/HZ2 that I mentioned earlier.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

I saw one of those Chauvet HZ2's last summer in person at a DJ expo and was very surprised at just how small of a unit it really was. I expected it to be about maybe 12" square but, it's a tiny little thing. Those eBay pictures are a little deceptive.

i don't get the diff between these two. similar dimensions, similar weight, similar heating power, both don't have dmx

Different branding and pricing. Note that the more expensive one appears to be a Eurite product so probably commands a higher price

Same brand name, same specs, different model name, different price! hahahahaha!
    That's a good one!

if i could get my head around to actually doing a few paid gigs, i would be able to afford slightly better equipment. oh well...

It's a bit of a misnaming really. Thomann claim both as Stairville but one clearly isn't from the picture. Be aware tha just because the cases look the same, the internals can and do vary. Look at Chinese moving head lights for evidence of that sort of thing. I think you just pay your money and start using it. If you get to the point where you need more you should be in a position to justify it.
