introduce myself
Hi you all.
As i'm hanging around here a view weeks and getting to know some of you, i would like to introduce myself.
I'm Bart from the Netherlands and 37 years old, living nearby the port of Rotterdam.
I got two kids 3 and 6 years old en a very nice wife !
Once i've seen a lasershow about 25 years ago in Amsterdam during a Hi-Fi expo i got infected like the most of you.
From that moment i knew what i want, not become a police officer, or working as a fire fighter or become a pilot, no not at all!
The only problem for me was, how become a laserist at the age of 12.
Because i'm not the person who likes school i lost the interest quite quick and the years went by.
Once in a while i've seen a show and that strange feeling came up again but not like last December '11.
The start of 2012, i'm on a freelance ict job for a couple of years already and i got a very busy schedule.
I like my job very much but there is still that feeling i want that extra, so this year i've decided to make a start in laser business.
I know there are already allot working here so it won't be easy to find my place, but that's something you all have to deal with even when your 20 years or more in business.
I've decided to give away a couple of shows here in the Netherlands which i can handle, just to learn and show what i can offer and to collect some advertisement material and maybe getting new customers!?
Experience comes with years, so most of you people will have more experience then i have, we won't have to argue about it i'm aware of that.
My very first show(s) will be in June this year, 2 shows for a dancing school in a near by theater with 400 seats (link to some pictures of it, and seen from front)
I'm aware that i got a very nice start with this one, most of the beginners like me will start with a small party, and if you ask me maybe it's better to start small.
But i couldn't let this go as most of you will understand.
I could get some very nice pictures/movies and the atmosphere in a theater will be great for my advertisement material.
Here is a list of the hardware which i've bought the last 2 months:
2 x 1.6W Kvant spectrum with LM scanners.
1 x Smoke factory tour hazer II.
2 x ADJ stands (will be delivered next week).
1 x Pangolin LD2000/Beyond Pro with QM2000.net enclosure.
1 x Pangolin LD2000 intro with QM2000.net enclosure (will be pick-up next Monday at Collimated "Francesco").
1 x Macbook pro (2009) with an extra cinema display 20" running win......
1 x DMX interface (lan to dmx) NODE-2 for regulate the HAZER manual from a distance.
1 x ildsos.
As you can see, this ended up with a complete empty bank account (but i did something about the European crisis!).
I am aware that this is for most of the people who start way to far, but i'm not that kinda person who will do half a job and i worked very hard to buy these equipment.
I'm start learning the pangolin software and i find new things every day, i got a good feeling with Pangolin that i could create a nice show for June!
I also signed up for a safety course here in the Netherlands, about the ILDA safety, problem is that it was canceled the first time during the minimum amount of students, the good part is it will be planned again before June.
Well i think this will be it for now.
