Yeah, the stupid motherfuckers got a boat anchor that I'm the only one on the freakin' planet wanted. IF that's what happened. Sorry, hard to believe.

oh man! I was sitting here looking at the pics and saw the broken glass and thought, damn, what a loss, then realized it looks like the brewster is still intact and thought maybe it could be be given new life! Then I read this, "...stole......the ion laser." Very sorry to hear that. What could have been a fine museum piece is now history.

I had a model 52 once upon a time, it was OLD!, there was only a *Coherent radiation labs* nameplate inside the head. It was a tan/olive color frame. The tube fractured at the glass to metal bellows. I kept the HR & OC,the tuning prism and a couple of the graphite discs. It was a real conversation starter.
    Will there be three phase!!!!

The worst part of the whole break in was that the stuff they took cost less than is cost to repair the door. They took a pizza oven, some of the scrap metal we had piled up near the back door, and the laser. In total, about $300 worth of stuff, maybe. Doors (double doors on a steel frame, also bent), labor, etc, $2,547.55. They didn't see my tools that I had left in one of the side rooms.

I'm pretty sure I hate tweakers. Talked with the three scrap yards in our area, all bank with us. Let them know what to look for. Shot in the dark.

Bob, it is worthless to everyone but you. I wouldn't have any reason to try and keep it from you. I have nothing to gain by depriving you of it, and just wanted to let you know. That's all.

Nothin' personal ...... just really, really disappointed. That was Coherent's first ion laser model. Serial number 100 could've easily been the first one. The door on the lid isn't on any of the others I've seen in pictures. This could've been one of the first ion lasers with an etalon in it. It's gotta show up. If it does, what a story!!! Still, what a story!!! Where's that bottle?
