    Lightbulb Building my first module

Ok this might be a long shot, but one day i hope i will make it.
I might just buy one piece every now and then until i can make a complete module.
Im thinking of going red or blue or maybe both and i want to make it over 1 W each, maybe a couple of diodes in each of them. Im very impressed by the builds that i have seen here on the forum.

I recently put one of my djmixers out for sale and i hope to get some funds to finnish this project

As im quite new to this hobby i could use some tips of what parts i need and where to get them.

Diodes, Lasorb, drivers, housings, lenses, knife edging etc.
    2x 1W RGB(DT40 PRO)
    1x 4W RGB, Full diode (DT40 WIDE)
    2x 1W, 532nm(DT40 WIDE)
    1x ALC68 ArgonGasser with 8ch, PCAOM
    5xFB3SE, BEYOND

    In progress, 2x 2,5w RGB

many people here will be more than happy to provide advise, but you have to provide the starting line

    1. will it be blue? will it be red? single diode? multi diode? (ok, if it is red, it will have to be multidiode, so opnext or the "flashlight"?)
if it is blue, things are simple. stanwax has a whole section dedicated to 445 optics in his shop. dave (lsp) also sells top quality brass parts.
just a starter for the discussion

I guess im starting with a blue 445 to learn things but im sure i will give the 635 red a go before i die.
I do want to build my own RGB projector once i have all parts for it. So far i have some spare galvo's collecting dust after i swapped them out to DT40 wides in one of my other projectors. I also have some 3D mounts, some boards and other stuff collecting dust

I will do some digging in the 445 section tonight

you can also see my own experiments here http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...t-laser-moduls

just disregard anything that has to do with that 12diode red. i never went on to build it and now i feel lucky i did so

Looks Good!! I should probably start with a kit if there is any available. I saw some in the 445 section but they all seem to be sold out.

a kit will get you a working unit but you will not learn much.
i say get yourself a diode mount, a selection of lenses (a cheap o-like and a 405-g-2) get yourself a pair of prisms, a pair of cylinder lenses and some spare alu parts and start experimenting

you may make something that will not look too tidy, but you will learn a lot
