Thumbs up Visit New Zealand, stop in at Australia too!

Believe me... If I *ever* fly to that part of the world, I'll be looking you and Dave up as well during the trip. You've both done so much for the community (not to mention some great deals for me personally), that it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to sit down over a few beers and thank you guys in person!

Plus I've never seen a Kangaroo or a Koala in the wild!

What do you do when you wake up at 4 am and can't get back to sleep? Resurrect old threads of course! Funny what a difference 10 years makes. What people owned and prized in 2006 are considered acceptable losses off the backs of dichros these days.
    .
(It also conjures up thoughts of, "What ever happen to...?") I especially get a kick out of the fact that 10 years ago Pangolin's main customer support person and hardware guru thought a DAC was something built into scanner amps.

OMG you made my day Brad I even listed my laser pointers in my list to make it appear more featured

And the must at that time was to have a blue laser, of course no diode-based! Good old times... and at that time I was far far to imagining that 10 years later I would own home made projectors with 8W 532nm OPSL heads, shitloads of blue, bigger reds etc

    - 1mW 632.8nm HeNe
    - 60mW 532nm Leadlight laser pointer
    - 60mW Leadlight with a modified 9mm 1W 808nm IR pump diode
    - Some spares of 532nm Leadlight pointers

Can I add 5x 12W YAG 1064nm at my work?

But I will soon or late buy a 100-200mW 473nm DPSS and a 400mW red module

... 10 years is not this big a difference - I did then some "tinkering" with a disk-laser with 20 Watts and some NdYAG's in my dayjob, now I have some stronger fiber-lasers to play with in my basement ... and some other laser-related scientific gear from completed/closed cooperation projects too

But some more ten years ago -- my first laser in 1990 was a CO2-lasertube with 1,5Watts for 1500 DM (Deutschmarks) and in 1994 my first canned IR-laserdiode with 1 Watt output power was (interestingly enough) exactly the same price!

Yeah. Funny thing is, I stumbled across this doing a search on spacial filters! But, it made for a fun read.

Here is a small fraction of my laser collection, I'll mention here the lasers that are either already operational or _potentially_ operational.

    1)LGN105, LGN108, LGN109, LG78 He-Ne lasers (2 mW 632 nm)
    2)LG75, LGN111 He-Ne lasers (25 mW 632 nm)
    3)ALC60X, JDSU2213-150MLK, JDSU2213-15VL argons
    4)LGI21 LE N2 lasers (3 heads, 1 power unit, 10 spare tubes)
5)GL509 CO laser tubes (20W of 5 um wavelength)
6)Various YAG laser heads from 20 to 130W with loads of spare pumping chambers, mirrors and lamps and a homebuilt power unit for them.
7)Homebuilt "Lightsaber" copper vapour laser system based on UL102 tube (5W, 510, 578 nm)
8)Homebuilt ruby laser system, 2J of 694 nm
9)Custom made Ne pulsed laser tube (614 nm, a tiny fraction of mW)
10)LOS4M dye laser, flashelamp pumped, 1J with R6G dye
11)GOS1001 Nd:Glass laser blaster (1000 J, 1060 nm) and 450 kg of capacitors for it, spare IFP20000 20 kJ flashlamps, spare 45*620 Nd:Glass rod for it.

Loads of laser related parts (lamps, laser tubes, crystals, mirrors, power supplies).

Still looking for more CVL and CuBr laser tubes and a high power argon laser with a glass tube like in SP164\165\168.

Check out my LPF laser collection thread with the photos. https://laserpointerforums.com/f76/l...ers-99566.html
