    Looking forward to either!!

Edit: I am PADI Advanced and if we get to go on this trip, my wife will be (bare minimum) Open water certified by then. It would be cool if I could get my nitrox card by then, but don't know if that will happen...
We can arrange any of the courses you want whilst you are here. We can do your wife's advanced if she wants.

Most flights don't arrive until later, which is why many people (including me) will need to fly in on Friday instead, and spend a night at a hotel on the mainland.

Likewise, on the way home (the following Saturday), you won't get to the airport until the afternoon, but the flights that leave Honduras all depart in the morning, so once again you'll probably need to spend a night in a hotel on the mainland and fly out the next morning (on Sunday).

Regarding the idea of leaving the island before Saturday, I really don't know. Rich or Sara would have to answer that question. Note that you might have to go solo if you do that (I'm thinking that Rich and Sara will be busy with the rest of the guests), and if you don't speak Spanish that might be problematic...

With regards to leaving/arriving early can be accommodated but it will not be with the private transport company. We can give detailed instructions on how to get back to the airport if you wish to do this. It is actually a pretty easy and the transport comfortable. Please contact Sarah on email sarah@coralviewutila.com with LEM in the subject if you are considering this.

Things look like they are starting to progress nicely. We have had several deposits already. I will start looking at my kit that I have here and what I should order in. Do you all think it would be a good idea to start another thread with possible equipment requirements?

    Cheers

    Hey Matt,

Welcome aboard, you will have a great time out here in the tropics. Tropics, sunsets, beer, and lasers. Perfect!
I'm looking forward to meeting you all too. Putting faces to names, finally.

    Hey Rich;

Concerning equipment, it might be good to start another thread once you've identified the sorts of things you'll need or want. Then too, if you have any information about flying with projectors (especially on an international flight), that would be a good place to post it.

Things to consider: Will there be any problems with excessive baggage (laser gear) at the airport, on the shuttle, at the hotel on the mainland, on the ferry, or on any of the ground transport vehicles? What about insurance? If you have insurance on your gear, will it cover you in a foreign country? (This will apply to the owners of the gear and not you, obviously.) What sort of power requirements does the equipment have? And do you have scaffolding or some other structure to mount it on?

Really looking forward to this event though. And for once my wife is in agreement! (She's psyched too!)

Wonder how many rooms we have booked so far? February isn't all that far away, and now that SELEM is over with, I think it's time I focus my attention on Caribb-LEM!

Is anyone planning to bring their gear with them? If so, please post details of what the airlines quoted you in terms of extra baggage fees. Also, does anyone know how insurance works in cases like this? Usually airlines only insure your bags for $50... That wouldn't work for a projector! Would it be better to ship the stuff? Thoughts?

Sorry Guys, We'll be in Cabo San Lucas that same week; all inclusive (alcohol included) on Michelin's dime.

Wish we could have made it, but can't afford to turn down the Cabo trip. (Last year in Aruba my bar tab, if i'd had to pay it, was ~250/day. 300 if we included the wifey )

    Hi all,

So SELEM is over, our busy season has finished and I am back from vacation. I think it is time to bring some life back in to this thread.

The owners have taken 6 rooms out of commission for renovation. So we currently have a total of 18 rooms of which 6 are already booked. They are hoping to have the rooms ready by New Year and if this is the case we will have space for anyone that is booking late.

It would be good to start getting a rough idea of the equipment people are bringing. That way I can make sure I have enough power and ILDA cables to hand.

I have a 2W RGB and 2x 1W blue satellites. I am hoping to have built 2x 1.5W red/blues by then as well. In terms of control I have QM2000 with Beyond and 2FB3s.

If we have more projectors we would probably need a buffer/splitter box. I will be ordering in some more ILDA cable before Christmas.

I have a small smoke machine for confined spaces but can borrow a larger one if needed.

Mophead - 250 per day, bloody hell that would last you a month (well, maybe a week) down here!!

    Feel free to ask questions.

    Cheers
    Rich

I'm planing to bring a small 1 watt rgb projector, etherdream and lsx with all its shows.

I need to book my flight still. What are the plans for that? Fly in and stay the night in the city I guess is the plan.

Sweet, I have been waiting to see LSX and the etherdream in person. Do you need any thing specific my end. Power/ILDA cables?

I think the best way is to flying the night before and stay over. I think Adam has more info on this than me. I haven't really looked at the flights as you will all be coming from different parts of the US.

    Cheers
