Brad has the ultimate LEM venue just because of sheer size.. Plus, the way the room can be divided for the "show" room on one side and "build/play" room on the other. He also has a lobby that would be perfect for seminars etc. Hotels, restaurants, I-95 all within 10 minutes. Also, his Bartenders are beautiful...

Depending on how things go this year, I might be open to the idea of moving SELEM to Brad's venue for 2013. Lots of things are changing in Newton this year. (Reggie has found a new job and will be leaving soon.) If the new management plays nice with us, we'll stay, but if they give us a bunch of grief I might start talking with Brad...

On the other hand, Brad could certainly host a separate LEM on his own. Would probably be one hell of a party! But let's get SELEM over with first...

PS: Still looking for someone to take charge of the windows in the cafeteria...

I HAVE tried to see if there was a way if I ever did a DeLEM to have some portion of it be a laser show for the public but I agree it could be fraught with problems. With the ballroom being dividable, Mark and I talked about a "show" room and a "play" room not unlike what we'll have witht he auditorium/cafeteria set up this year.
^^^ ditto- maybe a public show or two after or before SELEM would be more doable. I would be willing to help. An extra day or two on either end does not add much to the cost of attending.. Since most split early Sunday perhaps that night would be a good choice and still part of the weekend.

If we put people at all other exits(prolly illegal to lock any doors)the paying public has the front door to enter and leave and the bathrooms across from the office. We pay for all day Sunday anyway== maybe the venue will give us Monday til noon for free..Its something we can discuss at SELEM 6--- we have 14 months to work on this..

Might as well forget a public laser show in Newton. Who would go?

As long as it was a country music lasershow, I bet a lot of folks would come to the stable..

K and I may or may not be able to make it. I'll shoot you the registration funds regardless, Adam..... whether we come or not. And as always, don't include a shirt for me/us, seriously. We always get one, but neither of us wear polos....
