I've re-installed it, it works now.

Thanks to everyone. Obviously an installation issue.

    Whoa -

Now THAT is the visualiser that an apartment-dweller like me needs for designing shows!!

A couple of questions for those of you "in the know":

    1. What specific version of LC is that, and who did you order it through?

    2. Can it also (simultaneously) simulate DMX fixtures from the likes of Chauvet, American DJ, etc., and if so, does it require any additional hardware?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi Randy,

    1. Pangolin OEM Version and Pangolin as suppliers.

    2. Yes and possibly. There is additional hardware for DMX signals to be fed back into the PC but as I don't understand DMX as I've never used it, others are best telling you about that or you could enquire at Pangolin. Pangolin software eg LD, Beyond etc just loop the input straight to LC. so for lasers nothing extra is needed.

There's a learning curve for the software as It's not easy to use straight out of the box. That said, its not very hard once you get used to it. I managed to knock up a simulation of my driveway (used because the rooms in the house aren't big enough and its somewhere I can visualise mentally) in around 3 days at a couple of hours per day starting from knowing nothing at all.

Here's a video produced by LC for Pangolin as a demo using a variety of DMX fixtures and LED screens etc:

You can use LC with Art-net connection, grandMA, Hog, Avolite, Vista, also some demo PC versions of those consoles.
For other smaller DMX consoles you need a DMX interface.
I use Unlimited version for Laser, video input/output, LED walls, moving objects etc.

Randy you need to ask Pangolin about what their version controls.

I know you can add fixtures and effects from DMX in the Pangolin version. The only thing I'm not aware of is what Aage added in relation to external DMX control and if this is necessary for your needs or supported in the Pangolin version. It sounds useful but necessary to create DMX simulations? I don't know.

I know the Pangolin version is much cheaper which is why I'm pointing you towards asking these questions otherwise I'd say go with the full version. However the difference in price is more than 10 fold, so its well worth a question as it could save you thousands!
