I can give a bit of an update, I did get a hold of one of them (after fighting with my post office for about a month...) but the $600 module with wires coming out the back does indeed have a pump diode, and all that is needed for green output is a diode drive good for 4-5amps. If you want it to work with any stability you will need to mount it on a tec, but just a heatsink is fine for initial testing. Other than that I was not able to get any measurements before flying out to MIT, but the output can be compared to a normal microchip laser without the telescope, ~0.1mm diameter, huge divergence. I want to put an el chepo telescope on it (from a laser pointer) and put it on a tec to start looking at the power output, as well as get it hooked up to some modulation sources to see how well it modulates. Come christmas time I can give more details...

Well the world is gonna end before then.. :-D We need updates..!! .. Are these things still available .. ? 5A drivers are easy to build .. all you need for a rough estimation on output is any PCV lens.. we don't need no stinkin' IR filter for prelims ..(watch yur eyes) .. K .. ?

as jon knows ... us old guys here do tend to do some scientific calcs when it comes to new discoverys regarding common wavelength techs ....

so here we go .... 532nM*2(wires)/15(auctiondaysleft)+$600-$14(shipping)f(x) = x2, which relates an input x to its square, which are both real numbers. The output of the function f corresponding to an input x is denoted by f(x) (read "f of x"). = Vagina
