Are your shows self made? Can you slide some content to a second or third time line. Nevertheless,we will bring multiple comps and could run a separate laser projector form a dedicated comp.

I am still hoping that an LD 2000 subscriber will attend and add to the inventory.

I have had a lot of luck with the video application to Beyond. Everyone will want to see this and so I will also be bringing a video projector. And so, if there is any "classic" laser over video content out there we will be able to run that as well as the new integration.

A couple of shows are mine, but most of the content is from Pangolin show space. I'll of course bring my laptop.

Sounds like we will at least have a few shows at least, even if we have to make a bit up as we go

Some other good news- we should be having an appearance by the founders of OneTesla with a demo coil, and I am working on rebuilding a big q-switched dpss head (most likely will be IR this weekend), I saw about 10w out of it CW yesterday with some very sketchy diodes, so with less-sketchy diodes and an actual power meter for alignment hoping for 30w or so q-switched. With the current size of the group it should be easy enough to take people for a tour of our lab, the 100w cryo cooled Yb:YAG is down currently, but it should be possible to fire up the ti:saph and yag regen for curious minds.

As per the venue, I have attached pictures of a room that I think would work well, it has walls on 2 ends that are more or less plain white, a sink, blackout curtains and a decent number of 15a 110v outlets (plus the panel is in the room in case we manage to overload one of the circuits). It is about 30ft by 30ft. I did not see any smoke detectors (just fire sprinklers), although I had not considered detectors in the ducts. I am not sure how to handle the smoke situation, I would say in general we need to keep it light, if we use it at all. Especially because most of the projectors coming look like multi-watt rigs and the space is so small, a very light layer of haze should work just fine.

an appearance by the founders of OneTesla with a demo coil,
EEEK! Just not near my diodes.

Seriously though, I have had a lot of luck with an IR enhanced CCD with an IR lens for 1064 alignment. It shows a nice far field pattern on a video monitor. Any interest in trying this?

Can we drop off equipment on Friday night?

Light haze will be plenty. Maybe a sheet of polyethylene plastic over the duct (like at SELEM) just in case.

I usually use my point and shoot camera, with these power levels even if it is IR filtered any CCD works fine. I just screw it onto a post with a 1/4-20 grub screw and stick it in a post mount ;-)

For equipment dropoff, that shouldn't be a problem, safest place to store it is my office (one elevator trip from the classroom), I can let you in whenever you arrive.

I can't make it. Sorry gents, I'm on a flight to Florida for business that weekend. Miami/Ft Lauderdale area. I have to do the stuff that pays the bills. :-(
I'll take the train up and see Planters on the green project soon.

Well, it is tomorrow. We will arrive tonight and unload. We are staying @ the Kendall and will eat dinner somewhere prior to unloading the van. I will bring some wall covering and tape to set up a projection screen. We used this for about a year before we constructed a proper, rigid screen and it worked very well. The video application is pretty neat and despite some problems with Beyond we have a work around that just adds a few seconds to the process of loading a show. My projectors are not feeble, but they were not designed to toss in a flight case and jet off to the "next gig". So, after setting all the equipment up on Sat morning, I plan to spend some time aligning (repairing?) the optics and even focusing for the given room. The process might be interesting to anyone unfamiliar with these projector systems or comical to anyone with more experience than me. This WILL be fun.

Gentlemen, not that this is of any significance to the group, but I will not be able to make it tomorrow. I apologize but I am too ill to make the drive today. I was truly looking forward to it. Please take some pix and videos so you can share the fun.
