How do you adjust the lenses before clamping them down in your acrylic mounts?

Just back off on the hold down screws until they can be slid around with a tooth pick and then tighten down on the screws.

Yea...basically just do the " Tooth Pic Two Step " haha The channel cut into the lower unit is for the PCV lens. The shelf cut into the lower unit is for PCX lens. The PCX rests against the shelf and is centered on the beam centerline.

I have a general idea what the Plano to Plano mm seperation is and I start there. Too close, too far....then finally just right.

These cylindericals, big like the GB or small like the Micro are ALL demanding to position the Plano to Plano... like about +/- .25mm. That's just the nature of this optic. With a machined mount, at least you have the perpendicular relationship between the PCX and the PCV set. The clear acrylic makes it easy to verify that beam propagation is centered in the optics.
