Hi, thanks for pointing this out. I remember seeing this in a previous post or on Laser Pointer Forums, I can't remember.
Nevertheless, I just checked and for sure, they have the dot. Thanks for looking out for me.
As I wrote, these are definitely more robust. I could blow an A-140 with relative ease, but these took more voltage for positive ESD. HOWEVER, these things might actually be even more sensitive to negative ESD. I need to do more testing.
Great to hear from you again Andy, but I see that you still have sour grapes over us terminating your dealership... It's really too bad that you haven't been able to leave that behind you...
So let me get this straight. You're judging what other companies haven't done based on what you haven't seen in Pangolin's marketing?
To answer your question, there are in fact many companies (top named ones) who use LASORB both in their laser diodes and also laser diode drivers. About once per year, in preparation for the Photonics West tradeshow, we reach out to them and ask them if we can publicize the fact that they are using LASORB. Many say no, because they don't want their competitors to know how they are getting the competitive advantage. (This is one manifestation of "scarcity mentality".) HOWEVER, many companies have indeed authorized us to publish their names, and in LASORB related press releases and news letters (ones which you've apparently missed), they are prominently shown along with their company logos.
(Setting this aside, I wish everyone in the world -- yes including you Andy -- would read the works of Dr. Stephen Covey, and get out of scarcity mentality. It's a real killer...)
This, coming from someone who wrote "a certain Japanese LD company" and "company X" in your post above. Without specificity in your own posts, you're not exactly standing on credible grounds yourself here Andy...
For what it's worth, most of our intellectual property is handled by Allen, Dyer, Doppelt, Milbrath & Gilchrist. You can look them up if you're so inclined.
I've gotten out of the day-to-day operations at Pangolin, and I am concentrating on development. For that reason, there are a lot of deals I'm not necessarily aware of. Frankly I don't care as long as clients are happy and the money is rolling in... I can say that LASORB will soon be broken off as its own separate division. For the most part, it mostly runs that way now in fact...
