Laser repetition rate

hello
can anyone tell me about laser repetition rate and why its important?

i know about the P(avg) but i am working on laser range finders and i dont know how can repetition rate be any helpful?

Sounds to me like that would correlate with the number of distance readings per second.

i think it dose somthing with the signal proccessing?! actually it is a range finder. dose it?

no it has to do with pulsed lasers, usually q-switched etc... its how many emissions (pulses)/time(hz)
