I,m with 2 feet on the ground so no worries about that. The main difference is that a proffesional manufactured module is made by a metalshop and it can be reproduced so the customer gets the same ones if he orders 2 so in fact a product like a Makita. Same like a Kvant unless you are thinking that they are hobbiest too. Also the difference is between a hobbiest and a manufacturer is that the hobbiest doesn,t make a living out of building modules and projectors. I determine myself as a manufacturer (very small company though) because i build projectors and modules full time. I work 16 hours a day to make a living out of it but i can drink a coffee when i want not when my employer says.
You build some excellent modules in the past that are professionally milled and probably still do but there is a difference taking a saw and some allumimium and stack some beams on a plate. You can,t expect that it will stay alligned for example. Unless you don,t make a living out of it and are not registrated as a company your still a hobbiest. When you start making money on it its not a hobby anymore. Most hobbies don,t need fundings but like quite allot of people here are developing and sellig stuff to fund this hobby because its bloody expencive. Doing free shows for the local bar is not in my opinion the right and honest way. Some laserists trying to make an honest bussiness and the price need to be lower and lower because some hobbiests do it for free. Just my 2 cents.......![]()

did you really just say that?
your making your self look like a tit here...
i think you will find people like simon and myself (and others) know a lot more about module building than you. we dont just mess around with a drawing program, send it of to someone else and a finished product comes back. we deisgn things then with our very expensive milling machine, with a massive range of tooling, machine each part. over the years we have developed a great knowledge of machining and how to make things perfect. you dont have a clue.
so to your comment "taking a saw and some allumimium and stack some beams on a plate" kiss my arse
simon has done far more for this forum than you will ever do

Like always its interpeteted the wrong way again. Why starting with thinking that i ment everything in a bad way? I just design things and bring it to a metalshop because i don,t want to spend time behind a machine. That,s what engineers do at a company like Kvant or RGB or do you think they go sit and mill it themselves? Also the machine that the metalshop uses cost more then 150000 euro,s because of its accuracy. It can mill up till a 1/000 of a mm and i can,t afford to buy it. I have seen your modules Andy and i,m suprissed that you are feelling affended.
There are many people here (not you ) that are taking a slab of aluminium, some diodes taking out of a sled and self made mirrormounts by a saw and build a module. Well I don,t think you are doing that unless i,m mistaken. Thanks for thinking so worse of me![]()

Aside from the differences in manufacturing, I would think the biggest item that marks you and Kvant apart is potential for longevity, consistency and support.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
I offer 2 years warrenty on the module. 1 year on the module and another year of service and repair. All modules have the same beamspecs and divergence. I also sometimes replace drivers or parts from people that bought a module or bought a projector of me as part of service. Like have a year ago i sold modules with drivers without beamsupression. They wheren,t available back then. The other driver did the job and so replacing them was not what i had to do but i think it was better so when people contact me and ask if i can replace it i do it for free. Even though i,m not obligated to do it. Bigger companies like kvant or RGB don,t replace drivers and stuff when they have developed a new version that is better then the last.
And you can contact me directly because i,m the builder it self instead of talking to an engineer or a service desk. I have build it so i can better determine when there are problems. If i build a projector the only thing i don,t build is the green module. I do some modifications to it but that,s about it to be honest. But you can choose a car that you want to drive and its the same with modules. Plenty of brands to choose from.

And yet you still won't support this forum with a donation for the running of it. It continues to shit me that all I see from you are sales threads and very little to no technical/knowledge contribution.
As I've said before, it's like going to your friend's BBQ and trying to sell them all vacuum cleaners while you're there. Perhaps if you were the one buying the beer, they might be a bit happier to hear your sales bullshit!
Bradfo69 said it early on in this thread; post the prices and edison did. If they seem high then don't buy the modules and you're all set, no problems. If you want one of these modules and you want more information then PM edison and see where you go from there. This angry rant back and forth is fun to read, but lacking some of the unspoken background it seems a little over the top. Armature quality can and often does exceed commercial quality because the pressures of a profit margin don't compel compromises. But there are no guarantees, and as norty 303 stated, it might come down to longevity and the demonstration for consistency that longevity allows.
" Even though i,m not obligated to do it. Bigger companies like kvant or RGB don,t replace drivers and stuff when they have developed a new version that is better then the last. "
That is a lie.
I sent my Kvant red module, and they upgraded the drivers, to the current model, free of cost.
