    Hi Andy,

    Woah! Mega.

OK, measure something and you can see the mm on the main mm divisions. Say 345mm. Next you look at the divisions on the sliding section. Usually they are marked 1-9 or 1-10 can't remember ATM. Look at which line lines up the most with the divisions on the non sliding side. If it lines up closest with the 7 mark it is 345.70mm

pretty sure it's resolution is 0.1mm but it might have more smaller divisions marked as well.

If this is the case, you know it is 345.7?mm. Now look at the smaller divisions and you will then know the last digit.

    Hope this helps.

Look at the zero first - it's at about 19.5cm

Then find the number that lines up with the scale - looks like 2 to me, so 19.52cm

HaHa yes it's a bit mind bending at first. Try to think of it as the same way you read an analog clock.

First you look at the small hand to see which hour it's closest to, or "lines up with", then big hand to see which minute it's closest to then second hand.

the image is too pixilated when zoomed up to accuratly tell the last digit, but this is how i read it...

    Good luck
