    I think there may be more than one show co being discussed here flecom.

    That said, I'm always surprised how often 'time in the business' is quoted as being a good indicator of safe practices.
    In my experience, some of the companies who've been at it for a long time are the worst offenders (not implications about the poster here, however - just observational).

    TBH though, I would think its far easier to just say 'yes, we're varianced, and we don't crowd scan' than saying no explanations are owed or required. Just sounds a bit defensive is all. The close knit bit just seems to suggest 'we look after our own' rather than giving any credibility to the discussion.

    Surfing youtube.. look what I found... JDS lasers.. anyone know them? they seem to use a lot of audience scanning in texas... I wonder if they have the right variance to do this.. It definitely doesn't look like they are doing things correctly.

    ...Reported - again - to AZRRA... Hopefully, now-having been-contacted by AZRRA, once, seeing that Epic *'s (apparently..) did not 'get the message', will prompt AZRRA to take some action... Scanning people in the face - with, -clearly- nary a clue (let-alone a Variance..) of how to do it properly, warrants a nice, thick Clue x Nuke..

    ..if-only..

    Interesting. The YouTube link is now unavailable, but linked through their web site you can find very sketchy videos with lots of face scanning. These guys NEED TO GO!

    This international show company puts out a pretty bleak show. I've got in mind this one projector I just finished that will start some of the girls' hair on fire. I wonder if they might be interested? Could even throw in an IR laser so the victims wont know where it's coming from. Maybe some flash bangs and some pepper spray in the fog machines, some frayed electrical wires...oh boy

    haven't those guys been around forever?

    sure seems like the powers at be don't care if you blind someone as long as you don't shine a pointer at a helicopter!
