What I find amusing is there are these "restrictions" put in place by organizations, yet it seems no one from said organisations can be assed enforcing them, even when they're handed to them on a plate. If no one is going around kicking ass for illegal lasershows, people are gonna continue doing it.

Indeed, commonly-felt sentiments, well-spoke.. However, I'm going thru the effort to 'resurrect' this, here, cause, well.. I've got a 'Weekend Update'..

...Remember '3P!C Failzors' earlier in this thread? http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...310#post238310 ..well, of course, after being 'spam-bombed' by them - only to go to their 'site' and see THAT sh - Yes, I 'filed a complaint', via that online form, and figured that'd be the last I heard of it (..as, sadly, we've experienced so-much in the past, when CDRH was 'underwater'..) Well, last-week, I see that I've missed a call from a # in MD.. and there's a vm, so go to check it.. And, whattya know, it's our ol' pal Woody... want's me to call him back / to chat, etc..

..I finally catch up with him on the following Tues, and, yup - He's finally getting to this 'trade complaint', he got from that submission.. And he asks 'ok, so remind me again what this was about?'.. So, I figure, 'a video speaks a 1000-words' and re-direct him to the site / gallery page where that brazen 'demo' is.. And he's all.. "Oooh, ya, ya... dis is a problem, ya..'

..So, we talk further, and 3P!C Failzors is now *squarely* on their radar, and he said '..of course, I cannot tell you 'what action' we will take, but that, 'Yes, we will be taking action', (...and then, Lol, he proceeds to tell me what they're gonna do..) '...they will get a warning letter', and (...as he's perusing other links, there, I am guessing, thru the rambled-utterances...) 'all of this (the site..) needs to come down and.. oh my, ...'80 Watt lasers?? ..Yes, yes, we will be talking to them right away... ' ...Heh. That's just fine, let the FDA 'think' they actually have the arsenal they boast. 'Moar to Lurve'..

..Now, I'm (sincerely) not 'out for blood', I'm more than happy to see them 'get straight', but gol dangit, they wanna put it out there that they're "Global Laser Experts" (Pffffffuahahahaha, ROFLMAO, LolZ..), and yep - be competition for Co's that are even trying to 'keep to the high-road', well... Yer gonna at *least* get on a level-playing field, with everybody else, and ya sure as hells-bells ain't gonna be left-alone, doing it w/O a Variance, (100% confirmed, btw..they never applied / do-not have one..) no State Registration.. and doing *totally* unsafe, besides illegal, werk...

...Sorry, but, when it comes to public-safety / protecting our industry from more-Regs, *especially*, seeing what this moron has been doing to people's poor-eyeballs from, what, 30' away, tops???.. >_< ..'Education trumps amnesty', and sometimes, that 'education' needs to be a titanium Clu-x-4..

..Point it makes, is, Yes, the CDRH *does* take action, and.. is 'catching-up' from their horrible backlog... Hopefully, we can see them improve the efficiency of their Enforcement-teeth 'report-to-bite time', to something less than 13 mo's.. :/ ..but, any-progress is progress, so.. 'Gløbal Lazor Exp3rtZ' ...Beware..

We can only wait.. and dredge Regulations.gov every 30 days.. to see what goes-down...

Hundreds of innocent customers being subject to dangerous lasers. Without knowing a single thing.

Since you are in Texas it should be easy to get some enforcement since they have an agency that requires you register your lasers. Just contact them at 1-800-963-7111 and report them. Im sure you can find out when their next show is and let the agency know.

Burn a piece of paper with THEIR beams and call the fire marshal. Job Jobbed...

Seriously, in the US, the fire code as adopted from NFPA in most cities regulates lasers.

The local health department has a catch-all regulation, usually for general public hazards.

I've been told by one CDRH guy, who is now retired, that those were two of his favorite methods. Of course he had a badge, so it was more then likely going to work for him.

..No, don't second-guess yourself on this.. Three-cheers! It's one thing if someone is a 'tad bit in a grey-area' (Lumia or something..) but.. *Gross-disregard* should be reported / dealt with.. And - Action does get taken - http://www.regulations.gov/#!documen...13-V-0903-0003 .. Yah, that Bozo is still running around doing gigs w/O a Var / AZ-Lic, etc, BUT.. When the FDA gets back to 'Phase III' of getting on this guys arse.. I think (..and hope..) we'll see the REAL teeth come out ($300K fines / gear-seizing, etc, etc You can-only give the finger to the Guv for so long before they *will* bite back..

..And, NO, I'm not saying this to be an 'FDA Leg-humper', I want them to STAY AWAY from us / keep the Regs where they are / progress, NOT become stricter, due to them seeing these 'free-for-all' bozos at-large / actually really hurt people / crash a jet, etc, etc.. I don't WANT more Regs, that is why I follow / champion the ones we have / that are-smart / best-practices, etc

    Good job..
