    Default scanner tune, cause?

I have a scanner set that makes a near perfect pattern with the standard 12/30K ILDA frame. However during heavy abstracts multiple circles etc, I will sometime see a weird ringing oscilation on the object drawn. I have scene it on circles and squares where instead of a perfect arc for a circle or straight line for a square it goes Squiggly. Any ideas on what to touch up, or a frame to use to duplicate this so I can tune it out. I seem to only see it during shows, I have tried tons of test frames and none cause it, not even driving up the pps on the DAC.

Is Pangolin the source? (Let the Reload Pulse Wars Begin, ARGH!! NOT AGAIN!)

If so, take a look at the ole O'scope and see if you have the Pangolin blanked "data load" spike right at when you have your issue.

Are they DT scanners (or Chinese scanners) If so, chances are it is probably a Power supply issue. Most of the Chinese scanner systems didnt have powerful enough supplies with them. they will "freak out" at very random times and sometimes even at times when it seems as if the scanners werent working too hard.

Try more powerful (min. 2A per channel) and re-project the same cues that are giving you problems. See if it helps. I can shoot you over (2) 24V PS's to try if you want just to troubleshoot.

    Marc -

What brand scanner power supplies are you using thse days?
I need to "upgrade" mine, and would like to order a brand / model that is field-proven.

    Thanks!

mean well. traco. cant go wrong with either.

I go with 2 supplies. 1 for +24V 1 for -24V and wire them together.
