Default SELEM VI 2012 Logo Submissions

Hi all, it's that time again to submit your logo design for the 6th annual SouthEast Laser Enthusiast Meeting. I will leave this open for a few days and once we have a few logo's submitted I will create a new thread with a poll to vote for the best logo. The person who submits the winning logo will receive a free SELEM 2012 shirt even if you are not going to attend the event.

The shirts this year will be a little different, buffo has stressed the need to keep this a single color if possible, unless we come up with a logo that just must be made with multiple colors. The max would be 3 colors though.

Here are the previous SELEM logo's:

I created this today for SELEM 2012. When I came to post it, I read the 1-3 color requirement (oops!). I will still share what I created anyway and could possible get something similar down to 1-3 colors, but it would definitely lose its feel.

From left to right: 637nm, 660nm, 473m, 445m, and 532nm. Was trying to add mirrors, pbs, and dichro mirrors but I am not good with making 3D figures.

Hey djpsych, thanks for the logo submission! I like the logo, I think it may be a bit much to embroider but perhaps something other than embroidering would make this logo work just fine. Will need to have Buffo chime in. I'm guessing we'll leave this open until next Monday, July 9th. If no other entries, you win by default!

    Hey folks;

I've been traveling, so my access to the Internet has been very limited. I managed to get a free moment, so I'm checking in here.

The design that Djpsych came up with is *very* cool, but DZ is right - it's too complicated for embroidery, and it also has lots of colors, which drives up the cost. Even if we cut it down to just the three laser colors (R,G, B) and used white for the final beam and the "2012" text, that would still be 4 colors, and from what I've found that will really increase the cost of the shirts.

Still, I have to give credit to DJpsych - that's a great looking logo! I just don't think it will work for us with the restrictions on embroidery. (I will give the shirt company a call when I get back just to check on how much that design would cost though.)

Got any more ideas like that? Or does anyone else have a design they'd like to share?

    Adam

    Default ..late, as-usual.. :p

    Heyas..

Well, not sure if these will be too 'detailed', threadcount-wise, but.. they'll 'work', monochrome-wise, at least..

...and yes, they can 'work in all 532'.. (..or, any other color, for that-matter..)

..I know the blue, here, looks 'kinda dark', but.. I just thought, ya know, in 'honor' of 2011-2012's clear 'MVD' (Most Valuable Diode winner, these might be cool, in a 445-ish blue.. but, yeah, as in 'real-life', green always-does 'show up' better..

Lemme know if these help.. err if-not..

Just rub it in that you've got a "yellow" why dontcha'. LOL

@Buffo - this is buried in the signup thread so you may not have caught it but, Matthew (my son) is coming again this year and I'll buy him a shirt - just let me know how much to Paypal. XXL

    Thanks!

Before we toss out the "complex" ideas; let us get some perspective on this increase in cost... Approx. how much per shirt would the price increase be for additional colors? Again, just for perspective.
